Abstract Configuration softw are under Windows operation system for process control has been w idely used As a popular
configuration softw are at present, WinCC possesses the advantages of powerful prad icability and flexible configuration
MATLAB has strong capabilities in system design and simulation, which has been widely used in scientific calculation,
mathemat ics modeling and simulation. Combin ing mathematics modeling and simulat ion function of matlaB with humar
machine interact ive and controlling funct ion of configuration softw are WinCc to achieve respective a dv antage, the paper
proppses the communication method between MatlaB and configuration software WinCC. By using DDE technology, data
exchange between MATLAB and WinCC is implemented. This method is characterist ic of efficient programming, conve
nient using and good general perfomance
