1 Product introduction
Thank you for purchasing Q-7000-IP frequency converters. In order to enable users to make the
most of this frequency converter and ensure users' safety, please read this operation and service manual
carefully. When any problem beyond this manual is found during using, please contact local sales
agency or our technicians of engineering department. Our professional technicians delight in service

Frequency converters belong to electrical and electronic products. For your safety, "Danger"and
Caution"items prompt you to take safe precautions when moving. installing, operating and inspecting
frequency converters
Danger:
After powering off and before charge indicator light going out, please dont touch circuit board
and parts and components
Please don' t dismount and change inside connections or wiring and parts of frequency convert
Not carry out wiring during powering on, not check parts and signals on circuit board during
operation
Make sure earth terminal of frequency converters is grounded correctly. For 220V, use the third
grounding type, for 440V, use particular type
Caution:
Please don't perform any pressure test on inside parts and components of frequency converters,
ince semiconductor parts are subject to damage resulted from high pressure
Never connect output terminals(U, V, W) of frequency converters with input terminals(RIS\T
of ac power supply
Please not touch main circuit board, for parts and components on circuit board of a frequency
converter are susceptible to static electricity and breakage.

3 Installation Wiring
3.1 USe Environment
Installation environment of a frequency converter has direct effects on its normal use and service
life so its installation environment must conform to the following
Environment Temperature: +10-45C /+14-113F, for open style inside board
Avoid rainwater and damp environment
Keep from direct exposure in sunshine, oil fog and salty corrosion, corrosive fluid and firedamp
cotton wool and metal chip invasion.
Keep away from radioactive and inflammable substances
Keep from electromagnetic interference(welding machine and dynamic machine)
Keep from vibration, if unable to avoid, please install absorbing pad to reduce vibration. For sev
eral frequency converters, please install them inside the control panel
Please take attention to positioning for heat dissipation. In addition, please add a fan for heat dissi
pation to make sure that environment temperature is below 45C. When installation, please make
he front face frontward for heat dissipation
Installation space must comply with specifications (If the frequency converter is installed inside
the panel or ambient environment allows, take off its dust-resistant upper cover for heat dissipa
tion and ventilation)

3.2 Installation Direction and Space
For excellent cooling effect on EL-700-IP, make sure installation direction is vertical

Air inlet temperature of the frequency converter must be controlled within the following range

3.3 Wiring
Before wiring, make sure that input power is off.

3.3.2 Wiring on main lo

Make sure to ground earth terminal (third grounding type)

Never connect power line to output terminals (U,v,w)
Put voltage on output terminals will result in damage inside the frequency converters
I Notice about wiring at input side on main loop
1) Setting a circuit breaker for wiring
Make sure to connect a circuit breaker for wiring between supply power and junior main loop
(R,s, T)
2)Setting a residual current circuit breaker
If a residual current circuit breaker is connected on main loop, in order to prevent from wrong
action, please use a residual current circuit breaker which adapts higher harmonics as a counter
measure
3)Setting a electromagnetic contactor
The frequency converter can be available if there is no electromagnetic contactor at main side. If
a sequential controller is used to shut off main loop power instead of a circuit breaker for wiring,
the electromagnetic contactor may be used. However, if the electromagnetic contactor on main
side is used to stop the load forcibly, the regenerative brake won't work and free sliding stops
Since the electromagnetic contactor on main side is locked, it is not allowed to run or stop the
load. If a braking resistor element is used, use the hot protective relay contacts of the element to
build up a time sequence making the electromagnetic contactor off, otherwise the braking resis
tor may burn out when faults occur
4)Phase sequence of terminal block to be connected
Phase sequence of input power has nothing with that(r, s, t)of terminal block, so any terminal
can be connected
5)Setting a surge suppressor
If inductive loads(electromagnetic contactor, relay, coil and breaker etc) are connected around
o the frequency converter, please be sure to combine a surge suppressor

In order to improve power factor and so on, if a phase-lead electrolytic capacitor and surge sup

7) Setting a noise filter at main side
It is used to reduce higher harmonic noise from power line of the frequency converter
Wiring at input side on main loop
1)Wiring between a frequency converter and a motor
Connect its output terminals (Uvw) with motor's outlets (UVW). During operation, make
yere that the motor is running positively under the positive running command. If the motor runs
reverse order, choose and interchange two terminals among U.V.W.
Never connect power input line to output terminals
Never connect power input line to output terminals. If voltage is brought to output terminals,
inner apparatus of the frequency converter will damage
3) Setting a low-voltage manual switch
Even if the frequency converter is powered off, the motor continues to enable the load running,
please insert a low-voltage manual switch into input side of the frequency converter. During
maintenance and wiring troubleshooting, please keep the switch on
4) Never short and ground output terminals
Never touch output terminals directly or make output lines touched with outer shell of the fre
quency converter. Electric shock and short circuit risks exist. In addition, never short output
5) Never use a phase-lead electrolytic capacitor and noise filter
Never connect any phase-lead electrolytic capacitor and LC/RC noise filter in output loop Con-

Connecting a noise filter at output side of the frequency converter could reduce radio interfer
ence and induced interference
Induced interference: Electromagnetic induction makes signal line containing noise, resulting in
alse operation of control device
Radio interference: High-frequency electromagnetic waves generated by the frequency con-
verter itself and power cables make the radio give out noise during receiving signals
2) Countermeasure on induced interference
In addition to setting a noise filter as described above, all output lines are imported into a metal
tube could be used to inhibit induction at output side. Furthermore, when distance from signal
line is beyond 30cm, effects of induced interference reduce remarkably
10) Radio interference
Both the frequency converter itself and output
would generate induced interference, so
both input and output sides have a noise filter,
if the whole is screened with an iron box
radio interference would reduce. Furthermore, connection distance between the frequency con-
erter and motor should be as short as possible
3 Earth wiring
ge sure to use the third grounding type for earth wiring
Never share the same earth wire with welding machines and power plants.
Used earth wire should have a little bigger diameter than that specified in technical basic of
electrical equipments, and be as short as possible
Under the condition of using several frequency converters, please give attention to never
enabling earth wire formed a loop
